Pinot on the River 2016 Raises $110,000 for local Boys & Girls Clubs. Popular wine tasting event more than doubles investment in after-school and summer programs
Healdsburg, CA (October 27, 2016) – The 13th Annual Pinot on the River event was held on Sunday, October 23rd on the Healdsburg Plaza. The tasting event included more than 80 area wineries and attracted approximately 1,000 guests from across North America.
Guests were treated to a stunning afternoon tasting some of the best Pinot Noirs California has to offer. In addition to all the wonderful wines available for tasting, event guests had the opportunity to bid on over 110 silent auction lots generously donated by wineries from across the state. Guests also had the opportunity to cast their votes for the Pinot on the River People’s Choice Award. For the sixth consecutive year the winner was Papapietro Perry Winery of Healdsburg.
Funds raised from the event will be used to support summer camps and afterschool programs throughout Sonoma County. Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County CEO Jennifer Weiss said “A beautiful setting, amazing wines, and incredibly generous people made for a day of fun and tremendous support for our 6,000 Club members.”

One thread weaves through this tasting -- a desire to bring you the best wines. This tasting is about the breadth of wineries from across the state, an enormous range of varietals, and wine growing appellations from all over the state. All Family Winemakers tastings focus on wineries that are small (generally under 5000 cases), have limited marketing outreach, and will be represented by family members. There will be wineries at this event pouring with Family Winemakers for the first time. It's an opportunity to expand your palate. You can sample new releases from your classic favorites and from wineries just selling their first vintages. CHECK out varietals you've never heard of or your best-loved Cabs and Chardonnays. This well-respected tasting is a once-a-year opportunity to tour and taste California's wine country under one place.
